ok, I am planning a fully automatic 4.5 mm (.177 cal.) co2 bb gun. Here is my rough design.

My biggest question is, would the magazine idea work? Or would I need to do some sort of vortex block? Also, this is my first time using co2, so... anyway, i really need feedback, so thanks in advance!

I can't enlarge it on computer I'm on now (always something, speakers, etc,) anyhow, it could use a ball detent like jackssmirkingrevenge's design Here, In that post he linked me tothe vogt pattern in a reply.
So without being able to completely see the details, IMO, it should work.

BTW, why aren't you working on this or similar for a contest entry???
Could be fun even if you don't win and gain you respect, a valuable commodity. 8)

I can see that you worked real hard on your diagram... just kidding, please don't taze me bro!

Anyway, why not just go with a vortex?
It would work a lot better!

A vortex or cloud has more "dead space" than the potential of a "y" shape that fires by suction/pressure.
Besides being even more simple to build IMO.

With a ball detent used like JSR's design (I linked to), it has potential.
I have a husky sandblaster I got for about $10.
I figured if nothing else, the handle makes a cool blow nozzle for (something(?)).
I noticed it maybe is a pre-made BBMG and made a thread, didn't get much response though, and found better components to use since.
I might use it for concept testing sometime (if noone else does first). 8)

As Thunderlord pointed out an adjustable detent would make your ROF managable and increase power as it gives time for pressure buildup. The magazine should also work nicely.

ok, I looked at those links and I couldn't find anything about ball detents, what exactly are those?

Nice diagram JSR's post top of screen here And explaination. :D
Hadn't seen that thread linked to myself...Note to self, read JSR's threads completely...

The thing I mentioned interest in testing is whether a ball detent would work better mounted to the end of magazine (before breech),
or in the breech for a "y" shaped design similar to a giant sandblaster. 8)
EDIT: ...similar to your design also.

Hmmm...Decisions...I could ask:
"Are you an illiterate 13 year old?"
OR I could go, "well actualy a hop-up goes on the end of the barrel and has a totally different purpose."

OR I could be a D*CK and go, "I changed my mind, this design will NEVER work (for you)"...

It's a Ball Detent....A BaHAHaaaHaaLLL DE..E EE, TINT...Ball detent....
Now go make a time machine or something...[/jke]... 8)

ummm, I'm sorry to say this is the second time I am going to report you to the mods, what I meant was It SERVES THE SAME PURPOSE as a hop-up, which it does.

maverik94 and THUNDERLORD,

OK, I sent you both PM's, so there shouldn't be any more problems.
