Ok, here is an article I found http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091003/ap_ ... tch_terror, it is about a new government program in the U.S. called iWatch. It is to help citizens identify signs of possible terrorism plots. Anyway, I am just a bit worried as to whether this will adversley affect the spudding hobby in any way. It seems to be more focused on things such as bomb-making, but I just thought y'all might want to be aware of this. Anyway, I'd be interested in hearing your comments about it.
Wooooooo, 300th post!!!

well I guess apple can't make security cameras. Or will they sue the goverment like they sued some other company over the name iPhone? Anyway, they already have the patriot act, so this seems kind of overkill. That said, a lot of stuff is legal that some people would regard as terrorism. AFAIK, making explosives is legal by US federal law, but only if they stay on your property, are not stored, and are not used to vandalize someone else's stuff (don't blow up the car you haven't paid off yet)

not that anyone here would care if that was illegal...

Jeez, I man can't blow up shit in peace anymore, to bad.

I'm in California on a liberal college campus and boy do they get touchy with shooting fireballs off the roof and building cannons in your dorm room. But the less people see the less they care, be smart and don't flaunt your shit and this terrorist version of "Where's Waldo?" won't change a thing.

twizi, i could not agree with you more :)

and yea i think that as long as people don't get cocky with their cannons we should be okay, and in my personal opinion, displaying and metal projectiles on here should be kept to a minimum since that is pretty much illegal anywhere you go.

The whole idea behind spudguns is to have them NOT explode. Nevertheless, I honestly wouldn't be surprised whatsoever if this hobby comes under serious fire and scrutiny and eventual BANNING! It will happen because those who have no interest in it ask themselves, "My goodness, what on earth could anyone need something like that for? They must have suspicious intent. Plus, we are only helping to protect the users of such dangerous devices as well."

yea anyone who has no knowledge of spuddin' will assume that it is a rather suspicious hobby, and exactly like Moonbogg said;
My goodness, what on earth could anyone need something like that for?
however, i think it may be possible to keep these things from being banned if someone from "our side" makes a move first, e.g. pass a bill. (yeah, hard work, but it will let us continue making these to a certain extent.)

I think this could cause problems for those of us who are building hybrid cartridges.

Know what sucks? The fact that some of us are actually concerned about losing our freedoms and privacy. I say thats PLUS ONE for the terrorists and a big fat ZERO for this country and much of the world (most of you already BAN silly things like BB guns and airSOFT)

As a manufacturer of the Eclipse I have had the mis-pleasure of busting up a stakeout that an outside agency had placed in front of my property. When I called 911, the operator informed me that the agents had already notified them that I would be calling. 400 feet of 6061 from Sweden via Canada did the trick there. Get to know who you need to know before they get to know you. Now I am meeting with people I can't even speak of. The new age of air weapons for military and police forces is upon us. Trickle down theory at it's finest. Wait until you all see what I have been up to.
