I can't be certain as of this point. But it has no odor, color, smell, residue or taste (best if you not know how I figured that out) so I'm going to assume water. It came from a hydrodynamics lab. So it's a reasonable assumption.

Update: I have two of these 55 gallon tanks and one 100 gallon tank. I'm going to give this a week before I end the sale. It'll be a shame because I'll be forced to throw these away because I do not have room to keep them.
P.S. I was told by a professor that they only held water.

What would you do with it? Combustion chamber for a large disposable cannon?

Thats a good question, your probly better off Ebaying them. You will reach a more interested group of people that will have more of a use for them. Since your time is limited, go with a 3 day auction, start the bidding low (they where free to you) and post the item numer or auction link in this thread in case a member is indeed interested.
Let me know when your done with this thread and I'll lock it.

You can do whatever it is that you want with it. Hold race fuel, backup water tank, comically large pill bottle. Whatever floats your boat, I don't care. I just thought it was a pity to throw out perfectly good containers such as these.

Well the two 55 gallon containers are spoken for, I have a 100 gallon tank left but I do think anyone is going to bite. You may still PM me about it, but other than that, you may now lock this thread jrrdw.
