How to protect your chronograph.

I have a Prochrono on order.

Having read stories about destroying chronys with misplaced shots, I began thinking about protecting the chrony.

Place the chrony on a table and place a 45* slab of steel about 3" in front of it and about 1/2" higher than the electronics.

This will deflect shots downward into the soil.

As long as the shot travels above the shield, the most it could damage is the sun shade.

Sod's law dictates that the shot will probably knock the steel slab over and crush your chrony - remember, it's not if, but when ;)

Doesn't hurt to be sensible though, good luck :)

Actually, it will be angled down, so it couldn't possibly crush the chrony..

That means that it will inevitably fall away from the chrony just as you fire the shot. :D
