is it possible to screw a PB tank (ASA threads) into a BSP fitting ? how well would it fit ? I know that ASA is almost exactly 1/2" NPS but would it fit into BSP ?

Yes. 1/2" BSP threads will screw onto a ASA thread nicely, although it might be tricky getting a seal. I had to cut the unthreaded tip off of the ASA fitting (the bit with the o-ring) and then screw into a female bsp with an o-ring in it.
Also drilled a 10mm hole all the way through the pin valve to increase flow, you can never have too much flow
Suffice to say I don't think anybody is going to ever fill this with CO2 for me after what i've done to it, good job i've got agood pump.
I guess the mk3 semi-auto(nice work by the way
) is going portable?

I read somewhere that sodastream bottles are ASA and that 1/2" BSP is a pretty damn good fit but NPT isn't. I'll try find the link. I know my sodastream bottle has 3/8" threads, but I think it's a different type of bottle to the one described in the thing I read.

Both Paintball and Soda Stream valves have this special thread specifically for CO2 called a CGA320 thread.
CGA stands for Compressed Gas Association... and is often called an ASA thread or Air Source Adaptor.
1/2" BSP = CGA 320 .... Well it is the same apart from the thread angle. A female 1/2" BSP .... British Standard Pipe..... fitting will screw nicely onto the male CGA 320 thread.

thx...
IDK yet... I found a dirt cheap 4L tank rated to 200 BAR so I wanted to buy it and use as an additional air reservoir for the fridge compressor... but yeah I guess you are right - I could use it as a portable tank tooI guess the mk3 semi-auto is going portable?

That's a 1/2" BSP ball valve

Finally decided to invest in a paintball tank?

Quick, before anybody sees it...remove the picture Jack..It has NO epoxy anywhere!!
I've done it as well.I used a rubber washer inside of a 1/2" to 1/4" adapter.
I can now thread in in by hand and the washer gets squashed and seals.
I wish all thread sizes were so compatible!
( JSR I removed your message as it appeared in another thread, so I thought I was doing you a favour...appears my computer is acting up!!
I removed it from this thread while I was in the QEV cascade thread...freaky stuff!
I should have know you wouldn't post anything without epoxy!)
