electrical question

i need to get a motor to change derection with just a swich but not sure how to go about wiring it swich
i wikipediaed it and i think i need a DPCO or a Intermediate switch

I'd say that all you need is a 3 way switch (yes they are solutions to all of life problems

) and a couple diodes

i think that 3 way switch would have done it, if not i think we may need a bite more info in what your current set up is and what you are trying to achieve

SPDT = single pole dual throw = 3 way.

Yeh, you need a 3+ way switch. Well there actually called intermediate switches.

Actualy to swap + and - to the motor a Double Pole swith is used. A Center OFF switch can be used for forward, stop, reverse. A Momentary ON can be used so you have to hold the switch to run the motor.
Google search Reversing Switch.
A 3 way switch for one end of a 3 way circuit switches only one pole. A middle 3 way switch that goes between two regular 3 way switches can be used as a reversing switch.

i used a 2 SPCO push button switch i need it for a liner actuator i got for free from my bro. its off a hospital bed. it pushers at 600Nm(about 61kg) and pulls @800Nm(81kg)
the switch set up i used it just like a bed would have press one button it gose up and the other pull it back

Like tech said, all you need is a generic DPDT throw. Figure $2 from radioshack.

lol my drivers side window switch panel went out and I didnt want to pay $80 to put my window up and down so i used a DPDT switch. i think it works better now.
