why all of a sudden it takes alot of pumping just to get the pressure to stay. it used to only take 1-2 pumps but now it takes like 3-4 i modded a rainbird inline sprinkler (uuuuugh so much leaking soo much epoxy)

It's because there is now more space above the diaphram to fill before the diaphram closes (all of the hose, the blowgun, fitting, etc). So it takes more initial pumps to get it to seal. It's normal, don't worry about it.

nah i didnt bother with hose and that stuff (i wanted a direct grip) so it doesnt seen like it would make much of a difference

Well it still has to fill the blowgun, and there isn't very much space above the diaphram to start with so the volume of air inside the blowgun should still be enough to make it take more pumps.

hmmm yes i had about 20 leaks (messy first sprinkler mod) and now it onlt takes 1 pump to hold the pressure (like 2 psi though).
i finaly had to usehot glue because i ran out of epoxy (leaks from under 1in of epoxy) and had to chip it all off. i think i have most of the leaks solved.

teflon tape and hot glue...a potato gunners best friend
but seriously hot glue is wonderful because it is stron, easy to remove, sticks well, and hardens quickly
