Can you pilot a QEV with just a blowgun valve? If so that would make my life much easier.

Sorry if that's a stupid question, I'm very new to this.

A QEV is very sensitive to drops in pilot pressure. A blowgun will work very well to pilot it. A check valve or ball valve between your fill valve and the QEV is advisable as well for this very reason.

I dont really know what you just said. Also, is there any diagrams around the site (or the internet in general) that show how to configure the tank, qev, pilot, barrel, etc.?

he means if you are filling from the pilot side, when you disconnect your fill valve there can be a drop in pressure leading to the launcher firing prematurely.

If you search for "QEV" in the finished pneumatic launchers section you get plenty of projects showing all imaginable types of QEVs in use.
