i built a spud gun couple weeks back and decided i wanted to build another. this one though was gonna be a gun with different barrels, as ive seen on other sites. i went to the hardware store to buy male and femal threadings. i was going to attach a female one to a little stub of the barrel after the reducer and then attach the male ones to the different barrels. i found the male and female but when i tested to see how well they screwed together, i realized that they only went on 2 or 3 threads, leaving half of the threads still showing. i thought to myself that with it only going on half way, it would be a week spot on the cannon. i didn't want my barrel flying off.

anyone try the same thing? does it work or am i going to have a flying barrel instead of a spud?

Mine only screws in about the same difference, you only need at a few threads to hold it on. I just tested mine, I only screw it in 1 1/4 turns. You're fine.
