does it matter which way my ball valves are facing?

Does it matter which way my ball valves go on the meter pipe? i have both of them in the same direction but the arrow on them if it is for flow i dont know if it is, points the other way then how i put them on.

I don't know how you could change it, it'll still work fine, you just have to moce the valves in different directions...


I hope you didn't overtighten you fittings too much, BurntLatke say's that causes leaks or something....

They open either way so no but they only turn 45 dergrees one way so put them the way that its eaisiest to turn from your position.

Demon, YOU are stupid.

The seals on most ballvalves are asymetrical, and are designed to take pressure from one side only.

yes it does matter, and make sure you use a left handed pipe wrench to tighten it :lol:

its a joke, theres no such thing as a left handed pipe wrench since the pipe wrench can be used either way, same with the ball valve

listen ok bigshot, im a carpenter / fireman ... not a plumber! then again i guess the fireman part falls into plumbing SLIGHTLY, but we use hydrant and spanner wrenches... not pipe wrenches.... asshole...

haha, just jokin man, i do that to freshmen in my shop class all the time, ask them for a left handed screw driver and they come back five minutes later saying there isnt one in there :lol:

when i attach ball valves, i make it so that the handles point in the direction of the flow went its open. makes sense, but do it however you please.
