I have finished my first cannon and after messin around with it for a few hours I cant get it to work! The back of the diaphram valve just has a cleanout with a blowgun on it. Do I need a valve/sprinkler valve for it to work right?? Will try to get pics. :? Also I just finished adding some more primer/glue on the fittings so that might do it..

What's not working about it? Is the air going out the barrel?

Yeah, I did the valve like it said to on the "How to" forum.

Are you sure the barrel is far enough back? It might not be seating against the diaphraghm.

Its in 1/4th of the cleanout plug threads.

It's should be perfectly flush with the threads I believe. Maybe it's bending the diaphraghm before it even fires. Can somebody who's built one help him out.

P.S. 600th Post!

I am used to working diaphragms, but you must know a lot to use one on your first cannon. You'll learn how to fix all the problems and stuff. You could also draw up a picture of how it's messed up on Paint.

God that thing is huge! Did you put your schrader/disconnect behind the diaphragm? If not, there's your problem. And if your only going to use a blowgun to suck the diaphragm back, it won't work. Blowguns are just too small.

Yeah, its behind. I am going to fix it sometime and convert it to a piston. And will prob order a sprinkler valve since I cant find one around here. Thanks for the help :)

I don't see why your diaphragm wouldn't work. :? I didn't see anything wrong with it. Try running it with a compressor. Sometimes my diaphragms don't seal until like 30 psi so I have to pump hard and fast for the beginning. Jeez, with that humungo thing you'd be pumping for like 20 minutes.
