My meter costed me 90 bucks...where did i go wrong?
Does it seem a little odd that from buying the parts at home depo and lowes, my meter costed me about 90 dollars? my reciept from home depo was 68.51 and lowes is about 19... i only bought a regulator at lowes. its made of 1/2 " parts that get reduced into 1/4 " parts. Maybe the reducing is what buffed my price up? Or because i bought all brass? I didnt see anything but brass at home depo. Is brass just expensive?

The small metal bits like reducers and stuff cost a whole lot more than the big ones,I know our currency is different but bits smaller than 1/2" about 1/4" cost me 10bucks but the 1/2" only cost 2,50.You should try avoid buying small bits.

Forever dreaming...
Brass is just a rip off anyway...
Home-Depot sells regulators for $15, they're Huskey inlines and they're all brass, why did you spent $20 on a plastic one at Lowes???
Steel meter pipe is cheaper also, and so are iron\steel\alluminum bell reducers instead of brass...

I wish people would stop needing a better signature!

Its simple as demand. Most likely the smaller amount of material is equal to that of extra labor/ or effort on the machines part. Brass defintly looks alot nicer, but as frogy has been so nice to pointed out, it isnt required.
at my home depo, they dont sell regulators, and the one from lowes is metal on the bottom where the flow actually passes through, and plasic in the adjustment area. They had steal meter pipe actually i just didnt realize it was cheaper, and they only had brass reducers.

its $90 because its metal, 10 feet of 1/2 inch copper pipe is $20, 10 pieces of 5 foot 1/2 inch PVC is also $20, the price of all metal pipe is ALOT more than pvc
