QuickFire Cannon

Another mindpoop from yours truely. I've been messing around with this idea for quite some time. Lately I figured enough stuff out to sketch the basic setup. Some details still need refinement. Sketch is obviously not to scale.

The workings: Two chambers (A and B), open at both ends, pivot radially around a central shaft (D) and also lenghtwise on the same axis, for an inch or two to allow locking. The steps are sketched in the upper part:
I: A projectile is loaded in the barrel (C).
II: Chamber A is filled with fuel and then ignited. Chamber B is vented (if necessary) by the venting fan (E)
III: Another projectile is loaded
IV: Chamber B is filled and fired, while chamber A is vented.
The thing is manually operated, but could be automated with little effort. The only thing I haven't figured out is how it will be locked, but since there are a few options floating around it shouldn't be a problem, if I/someone takes the time to build this cannon.

So basically, it's 2 guns sharing one fixed barrel. The chamber rotates and locks onto the barrel and fire, while the other one is fueling/venting. You still need a way to load the ammo, maybe you could use your HK G11 idea with the ball valve loader, and hook up something to rotate it with the gun.

Well you load the ammo manually while the chambers are horizontal (position I or III). Two magazines in this position would aid an automatic design but I'm sticking to manual for now

A hopper design would work just as well, but only with spherical projectiles.

You could try Galfisk's pump idea, and incorporate it into the rotation.

Finally a topic of significance! it looks like an awesome idea. Your drawings look professional.

Sorry to tell you, but the first time I read this topic I thought "how gay?". But after another view, the thought of "flipping chambers" would be pretty cool looking, even if its a bit impratical. I have a idear' on how to so, but a blow-back driven design that didnt require human interaction beside the push of the ignition would be "Off the hook" (Sorry if I out "gangstered" anyone)
Ill try to keep all the explinations to the picture area, but a few things before I do. This concept could be used in both a 2-4 or whatever amount of barrels you want. The "teeth" on the mechanism will no doubt need to be higher since that wont load your projectile at there current short height. The bar running threw the center would connect to the one you have drawn, then the green "gear" would be connected to the chambers.
I like your posts and the time you spend on them, so I thought in return for your respect I would draw these up for you. Enough babbiling, here they are...

Green= Gear connected to guns chambers
Red= Gear connected to shaft
Gold= shaft collars
Blue= Compression spring
Grey= Handle of that is rotated

Since the gun shouldnt experience very much recoil occuring "side-to-side" the two faces sitting on each other should do.

This is really only to show that everything is in a fixed postion except the green gear which is connected to the chambers
Basically, you guys get the idear'. I think I fed on the coloring, but O well anyone creative enough should be able to figure it out. Such a gun with chambers would be awesome.
