I want to make a nail gun eventually. No i dont mean a gun that shoots nails through plywood, i mean like a gun that is small and compact, but can at the same time drive a 10d nail into a 2x4... Is it possible to make a small compact gun that can drive nails into areas that are hard to reach with a hammer or something?

Yes you can with the right barrel, i made one with a fire estinguisher you will be better off using one too just that it wouldent be too compact but you could just make a really nong hose to reach hard places. With a 200 psi fill on a fire estinguisher you can easily shoot 10 times.

If I were you I would make it co2 powered. That way it is completely portable. Even better than a commercial nailgun because you aren't tied down to a compressor.

yeah build that but use regulated c02. it might be a little pricy but imagine how many shots you would get out of it!

at school we shoot each other with paper clips loaded onto rubber bands that are attached to our hands and sometimes it miss fires and hit teachers  so i went an extra step today and made one with a trigger and spring loaded, and it shoot horse shoe(don't know what theyre called) nails and they dig them self into plywood 8) .ill post a pic maybe later.

some nailguns are combustion so you could try to adapt a combustion style to it. or you could just make and electric one and use an electromagnet to power it.

Finally! Someone else realizes that the Earth's CO2 supplies are quickly dwindling, and soon we will be without this goddly gas!

Lol.... dude the nailguns that are combustion use 9mm bullets to drive the nail... they are to easily put a full nail into a solid concrete wall... point is thats not happening. And over like 120 psi is not possible due to the rating of the blowgun right?

Actually, they use .22, 9mm, or other sized (I have seen .38) blanks.

He's trying to make a gun to shoot nails for building stuff. I wouldn't think that he would want to pump it up for every shot. Make a co2 reg system that you could use for all of your pneumatics rather than one for just this gun. It wouldn't take too much co2 to drive a few nails. I imagine it could be very efficient.

just take a gun-like blowgun, with the under end connected to an airtank prefilled to the desired pressure, then you've just got to make an adaptor for the barrel of the size of the nails, and just let them descend the barrel, and press the trigger as quick as possible. I've used this sstem for my 200+ shots .177 gun. very powerfull, and yet very simple to realize.

FOR THE LAST TIME DONT USE CO2 its a waste on such a small gun just use a 10 dollar compressor damb you
