I piece of pipe that a marble fits well in, an end cap for the pipe, a drill, and a screw.

How much money are you willing to sink into the project? ('tis an important question)
I believe they sell 14mm pipe down there, and I'm pretty sure I've seen ball valves on launchers from that area, so they are available. (no idea of cost, though)
Alternativly, you might make a combustion, but I hear that ignition sources are a bit hard to find.

haha another aussie! join my club, a.n.z.s.g.a. well how bout a 14 mill metre long barrel 14 to 25 mil adapter, 25 mill ball valve with a pneumatic "ram" on it. the chamber couldd be shaped like a stock with a shrader in the bottem. i have made the same gun with out the ram. worked well.

A bit off topic but i could really use some help...
So iv built a large combustion, and an overunder pneumatic useing a red ball pvc valve. To my regret im not really pleased with the performance obviously due to the slow pressure release in the manual ball valve. I now really want to build a really powerful cannon. something well over 500yards. something to really impresse my neighbors and family but also wont be disaproved.
i was thinking a large scale exhaust valve piston cannon. would that do the trick? or should i build a hybrid? i know a hybrid would be a bit more dangerous and because im 14 my parents would probly be a bit hesitant. so do any of you experts have a good idea for something really powerful, good range, and stability?
sorry i guess it is a bit general...
thanks

a piston valve. this valve I designed can be built by anyone who can glue pvc, use a screwdriver, and use a file and sandpaper.
to see it better click on It to view full size image
here's a hole It put through both layers of a carhood.

im a little confused about the diagram? ecpecially why you have a T fitting and how you used a 3" end cap to work as the piston. shouldnt there be a piece of special rubber to sell the end cap up against the barrel? and would the finished cannon be like these?(look at links) i understand these much beter. how far does your gun shoot? and do you have any pics?
thanks again

That's just a valve (in case you didn't know). People make piston valves in T shapes because it allows them to easily make an over/ under cannon.

ohhhh sorry, i fidures thats what it was. all the colors...
so it would work like this?
http://home.mchsi.com/~hanson49/air_cannon/shoot1.htm
and would you sugest this over a hybrid?

Tour looking at a coaxile piston gun which are easier to make than t piston valves. Well thats my opinoin. Look into spudwiki and cannons around the site.

Technically, schmanman's piston gun is a co-axial gun, just with the main air chamber below the barrel instead of around it (which some of it actually is).

Um I don't mean to be rude But a little research goes a long way.
MATERIALS.
1" Pipe (short sections for use as nipples)
1 1/2" Pipe
1 1/2" Coupling
1 1/2"x1" Reducing Bushing
2" Pipe
2" Street Elbows (Male and Female connections)
2" Endcap
2"x1" Reducing Bushing
1" to Male Thread x2
Tire Valve
1" Ball Valve
Large block of wood and tie strap for spacer
ALL PIPE IS SCH 40!

DO NOT USE DWV PIPE!
ASSEMBLY.
This cannon is very simple to build. The 2" Chamber should be cut around 4 feet, but can be as short as 3 feet and still perform well. It is a matter of preference. The barrel should also be around 4 feet. Drill a hole for the tire valve and attach it to the endcap, before it is glued in place. When all pieces are arranged, prime and glue. Let them sit overnight or you risk destroying the seal of the glue.
Adaptations of this cannon abound on the Internet. One cannon is 10 feet long and shoots 3" wide bean cans of concrete!
This is a good design to start off with. you can change the valve and barrels at a later point to fit your needs.

um i dont mean to be rude but i did research and in case you didnt notice on my original post i said that i had already built a over under cannon useing a ball valve basiacally identical to the digram you had put up, except i didnt bother spending a bunch of money on a brass ball valve when a pvc one would be basically the same yet increase the flow of air because it was a two inch ball valve fitting.

guys i hate to tell you this but im only a noob and i have no idea what all the valves and stuff are
i just want to make a simple combustion copper marble gun which uses deoderant as the accelerant
