If you PVC cement turns into a thicker gel is it still ok to use it. I tried to glue together my new gun today but realized it gelled up. Im worried it wont have the molecular bond as it would normaly and that it might leak. What do you think?

Test it on a scrap. put some primer then glue and wait 20 seconds then with your fingernail you should be able to scrape 1/16 to 1/8" into the PVC. If not you need new glue.

If it looks weird and has a weird texture, just dump it and spend a couple bucks on new glue. I know I always talk about this, but peace of mind is just soo much more valuable than a few dollars

Yep im just going to spend a whole $1.99 to get some new glue. Ive gone through 3 cans of the stuff with this same problem. I think its because it gets so hot in my garage. Will temperature affect it?

It's because the solvent has evaporated, leaving you with a plasticy goop. It's not capable of dissolving the PVC as well, so scrap it.

is there any way i can get my next can of it to last longer? I only used each can once before it happened.

close the top of the can really tightly i use a pipe wrench

my glue has a use-by date and you have to use within 6months of opening if you want it for pressure purposes
