I have to build a marble cannon for a physics project and I am wondering what type of design should I choose? Springs? Maybe compressed air? Perhaps a catapult-like mechanism? (I'm not allowed to use fuels or explosives).

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

side note: you do realize this is more or less a "gun" so you might want to check to make sureyou can bring it to school, and what are you studing, ballistix?

So you were assigned to build a marble gun? I'd look around and ask around for a good design for a nice little pneumatic marble gun.

Haha putting tabs on yourself there BTB.Just go with a simple design with a ball valve and some fittings cheap and effective.
