Okay, so i've built my pneumatic, and am very excited about shooting it off, i hope to do so tomorrow or this weekend sometime, and i'm using a sprinkler valve for the pressure release, however, i've recently heard of quick exhaust valves, and couldn't find any good information on them and was wondering if someone could give me a crash course on QEVs and a good place to get them from? thank you!

It is like a pre mofified sprinkler valve with equal or greater flow than a equal size sprinkler valve. Check ebay for them they often have big ones for cheap.

3/4" QEVs are more powerful than 1" sprinkler valves.

A Q.E.V. is an outlet sealing valve. The piston is cone-shaped, so when it is pressurized from the pilot, the cone bends and lets air through the CYLINDER port. When the pressure equalizes, the cones expands back against the walls of the piston carriage and seals. When the pilot is exhausted, the cone shape doesn't allow air to push around the piston, so you get almost instantaneous exhausting with little pilot pressure drop.

And Gort, 1-1/2" quick-exhausts are more powerful than 3/4" quick-exhausts.

awesome, i'd have to get a 1" qev just b/c that's what would fit with my gun and i wouldn't want to change any more, i'd just want to attach a qev, and also, spudstuff, i couldn't find any qev stuff on that site, maybe i'm looking for the wrong thing though ^.^

has anyone thought of using air suspension valves found on cars?they fetch a fair penny but are made of brass and you can get a 1" one for around $80NZD($45US?)but it should be cheaper over in the US

Yes , that is a asco and has a extremly small orfice. It is good for prettymuch nothing.

haha, well, i'm shooting off my gun today or tomorrow, i hope it works, and then i'll post pics of my gun so yall might be able to suggest a qev for me to use

Could anyone tell me what they are used for in a car ? I know a mechanic, I should get some for free.

Air breaks? Air bag shocks? As for the QEV I was wondering, wouldnt a piston be more powerful?

QEV's are the Doggs, we over in the UK are using them all the time as they are more available than sprinkler valves!

the flow rates are much higher too, i am curently building a 28mm copper chamber launcher with twin 3/4" QEV's so should be pretty awsome the chamber is made from 2 lengths of 35mm copper aswell!!!!!

air bag suspension i believe,i cant remeber but i know it has something to do with them,but spudstuff said theyre useless so maybe theyre not such a good valve to use.
