What can you use for ammo in 2.5'' barrels

Try asking in the ammo section next time.
Depending on the exact type of pipe, it varies, but SCH 40 2.5" pipe fits tennis balls quite well, or in general you could use massive spuds.

Potatoes work great as ammo or so I have heard that they fit most barrels
(sarcacism)

beanie babies are prefect, because they are too big for 2 inch, and too small for three inch. they work for me.

Actually, 2-1/2" SCH-40 is about 2.45" ID. So no, I hear no echo.
Lightbulbs actually fit good. Just get one to where it'll survive the launch, (A.K.A. - fill it with concrete.

if you fill it with concrete it will prolly crack.
