i know this queston has being asked many times and iv searched
but i was wondering i know combustions are weaker but are more mobile and are funner to shoot with the bangs and flames
but pneumatic are alot stronger and dont rely consume anything like deo or propain but need to be near a compressor or a bike pump (with gets rely anoiying pumping it up)
so i was wondering what would be beter for a compact mobile gun that has pretty good power
and i live in australia so i cant get hold of any co2 tank very easly

There has always been the discussion of creating a hydrogen spud gun. If you made it out of sch 80 pipe or metal then it should be extremely powerful and very portable. All you would need to do is hydrolysis and use the oxygen and hydrogen from that to make a big boom.

Combustions have plenty of power and have portability.

combustions are good frankrede, but we've already covered this. He's looking for more power than you're average/advanced combustion yet without the problems of carrying a compressor, at least as far as I can tell that's what he's looking for. Another Idea I had though was you could make a metered combustion launcher and inject oxygen along with everything else.

Squeaks it would take a lot of work and effort to produce hydrogen with electrolysis. I have done small scale versions of it and it is not a rather fast process. There is also the problem with pressurizing it.

im not looking for much more power im only lookin for a little bit beter preformance

Electrolysis is much more complicated than you might think, but simpler than people make it seem like (I know that makes no sence) However, in order to get the oxygen from the water as well, you need a titanium plate, or maybe a stainless steel one, but I'm pretty shure it needs to be titanium. Also, most electrolysis systems use some form of a [sp]catilyst[/sp] in order to get the water to split up faster, I have found that battery acid from a lead-acid battery (car/tractor batter) works very well, however the D.C. voltage and current supply necessary for a large-scale operation would be too much for someone to rig up in their garage. You could just let a small one sit for a weekend though.. Also, the storage and compression of the H2 is also an issue, because you wouldn't want all that hydrogen taking up space in/around your house........ (*) Wonders how many spudbux He'll get for this one(*)

You are useless. That post was useless. Big whoop if you got 5 spudbux.

I was totally waiting for you to say that, I wanted to see how it felt. It felt dumb, I laughed.

Make a combustion with all the goodies.
Chamber fan, propane.
Propane is really cheap.
Well atleast around here.

As to the electrolysis thing......
#1 pressurizing it would be simple, you fill a closed system with water and as the electrolysis takes place it pressurizes itself because the particles are expanding from liquid to gas.
#2 To get enough power use car/boat/RV batteries. Wire them together if you need more power than that.
#3 You were actually refering to platinum. It's the stuff they use most often because it doesn't oxidize. Stainless steel wouldn't work. Carbon works really good because it resists oxidization. It's also not hard to get a hold of because you just tear apart a 6-volt lantern battery or get the brushes off of an electric motor.

Yes, I was talking about platinum, and I've found that 50 volts is nice for electrolisys. It can be done without the special non-oxidizing conductors, if you replace the electodes frequently enough and don't necessarill care about getting the oxygen from the water.
can't you buy hydrogen? Like from boc Gasses or something?

it has been made in an al metal (aluminium) cannon....big boom, bu damn weak.i'll try to find the gogle video link as i can.
