ok, i just thought of somthing crazy. this probly wouldnt work, but has any one ever tryed making a vortex gun with a huge, and i mean huge camber and putting a 3/4"cpvc barrel for PAINTBALLS??
it would just be a huge bbmg that shoots paintballs. u would just have to super size everything. the only thing im doubting is air pressure, can a compresor creat enough power to fire that many paintballs??
plz comment this. cuz if theres nothing wrong with it, and there prolly is, but if not SWEET

On the Spudtech forums it's been determined that large vortex blocks are impractical and use to much air. I think it was DR who built a ping pong ball BBMG, but it didn't work too well.

ok, i knew something wouldnt work on it. i just love the idea of it.

he made a marble MG, marbles are heavier than paintballs, so maybe it'd work, but you'd need a HUGE resiviour to supply the air

ik, how many gallons do u think u would need?

yeah, and bigger, there was a 500 gallon tank on ebay before, it had a 24" flange fitting on it

and also i think a 1500 gallon has been on ebay before, i'd hate to pay the electric bill for that bad boy

I had a design for a paintball machine gun but I never built it because of the lack of money. Basically by using eithor a 3/4" QEV or a solenoid valve, along with a small chamber to accumulate air pressure (I'm thinking aproximately a 1:1 ratio between the chamber and the tee). The affect of this design is it jwould create a sort of burst fire pb machine gun. A 3" tee could be used as the hopper along with a paintball vortex block. The vortex block could be made with a 3" PVC rod with a 1.5" hole drilled in the center. The intake hole for the vortex should be drilled to 5/8" and the hole for firing the paintballs should be aproximately 11/16" (0.6875). I hope I explained that well enough and I'm not sure exactly how well it would work because i haven't seen a design like it before. I will try to post a diagram if anyone is interested.

you could also take my semi auto design (see http://semi-pb-gun.mypicgallery.com/ and http://semi-auto-gun.mypicgallery.com/ for more info) and use a 3 way solenoid valve on a timer circuit to make it open and close as long as you hold down a button

Sorry bout the pessimism. If you have the resources, by all means, try it. There's nothing like a little R&D to further the spudgunning world. But if you do build it, you had better post some pics, because we'll all want to see it. :D

think i could jsut use like a 6 or so gallon and just get like 15 or so shots?? cuz a 80gallon on ebay is $3000

One thing I will experiment with this summer is a simple cloud paintball machine gun. I will post the results when it is completed.

yeah, that may have been a bit eccessive, but i know DR got about 15 seconds in his marble machine gun using a 15 gal. tank and a 1" ball valve to dump all of the air.

I dont see how you could dump a gallon of air a second thats pretty fast.
