Ok here are some pictures of the valve.

The valve:

Shows where I copped the flow control thingy off.

Now I will start taking the valve apart peice by peice.

This is with just the top removed, you can see the metal peice that keeps the spring centered.

With the metal peice off you can see the diaphragm:

Diaphragm removed:

That plastic ring peice removed. You can see the top of the "door" and the hinge it moves on:

The "door" lifted all the way up on the hinge. You can see the straight through flow path here.

View from where the chamber screws in (door closed):

Same view with the door open:

BTW the pilot area presurizes through the little filter looking thing that you could see on the top of the last two pictures(but it's kinda fuzzy).

The valve next to the 1" rainbird I will use to actuate it.

More pictues after some of my modification"

You can see that it is quite different than a traditional sprinkler valve eh?
Well, the cannon is done but the valve isnt working. When I use a 12v compressor to fill it up, air escapes under or beside the valve or something, bottom line is- the air immediately exits out of the outlet. Can anyone figure out why? My only idea is that not enough pressure can build up above the door to keep it down and hold in the main pressure from the chamber, does this sound likely? If so, could I just put in a quick disconnect past the ball valve and pressurize through that? What size quick disconnect would fit a 12v compressor?

not enough pressure, or something is in the diaphragm, not allowing it to close, such as PVC dust

I checked for any obstructions and gave it a good washing out so thats not the problem. I know nothing about quick disconnects so how would I go about connecting to a 12v emergency compressor with one?

Well you cant very well put a schrader valve after the blowgun you are using to exhaust now can you. Schraders are 1 way valves. Anyways that valve was just not meant to be, it cracked while I was tightening it so I am temporarily just using a 2" ball valve, I know some of you are probably having a heart attack reading this but it really does still give good performance. A warning for all you people who might be looking for 2" sprinklers-Do not try and use an Irritrol Ultraflow.

PS tomorrow is my birthday woohoo
