Hi everyone thanks for viewing my question.
i have just built my first combustion gun and my parents are safety freaks, my end cap is one that has an outside thread, i've seen most combustions have a cap that screws internally into the gun. just wondering if mine will hold up to shooting potatoes?

thanx

It usally wont as long as you screw it on tight. Sometimes if you wedge something in the barrel it can blow the cap off. Just in the case that it does blowoff be sure that when you shoot it that you arent in the path of the endcap. If you installed you ignitor in the end cap you should put the ignitor on the side of the chamber (where its double thick) so your hand is not in the way of the endcap if it does and might blow off. Check for other people that might be in the path and objects (windows). Just a little story about having a end cap blow off. About two years ago we were shoothing potatoes when we ran out of ammo we went to this guys house (junkyard jimmy) and he gave all these chaulk tubes so we wraped duct tape around them so they would fit better. Well one of them we wedge it in there way tight then I fired it and it hit my friend in the foot who was about 15 feet away and it ripped his shoe open and cut his foot open. So end caps can be dangerous. Hopefully that doesnt spoil your confidence.

yeah i'll make sure i don't ram anything too tight or heavy down the barrel, i have two screws going into the chamber of my gun so i wont be in the way of the cap :)
