i have just acquired a car ignition coil, and want to know how i would use it to ignite my metal combustion. my current system is a peizo ignitor, fed through a spark plug with the spark gap widened. it fires,maybe,1 in 10 times.......i have heard thet the ignition coil makes a bigger spark.are they dangerous?

A ignition coil needs slightly higher current then a BBQ ignitor does. You would be better off hooking up a camera flash to the ignition coil, it would have more current, an output of about 30,000 volts, and a ecent sized spark.
