what kind of air compressor.

i finally got the money fror an air compressor, and i was wondering what reccomendations anyone had for an air compressor that cost around150-200$ right now i am leaning twords an electric husky 4 gal, and was wonderin what pressure it would be able to fill my 45ci chamber up to. also will it be able to fill my 565 ci chamber to 80 or so psi, and if not what is a good model that can for around 200 bucks.

porter cable makes a nice "pancake" type compressor. try to avoid buying them from walmart, my grandfather bought a campbell hausfeld one from there, the piston tore itself apart against the cylinder walls, it was supposed to have a metal sealing ring, but it had nothing more than a piece of rubber resembling a rubber band. walmart is able to sell stuff cheaper because they buy factory seconds from the companies

I have a campbell hausfeld 40 dollar compressor, I guesse you get what you pay for because the thing takes quite a while to fill up my chamber, plus the energy from the electrical outlet goes through the battery I think so even when it's plugged in you can really only get a couple of shots out of it.

i have a big cambell hausfeld (i think thats spelled right) and it takes maybe 10 minutes to fill the 40 gallon tank to 120psi and can fill my foot gun about 10 times to 80 psi before having to refill it i would suggest a hausfeld or husky with a more powerful motor for filling it will normally last longer because it doesnt have to work at full strength all the time for the same pressures

for phematic guns do you have to use a compressor?
or can you use a bicycle pump? or is just easyier to use pump?

I have two craftsman compressors, one i got for free from a freind and the other was handed down from my dad. the one from my dad is 20 gallons with 5 horse power and it fills in about 40 secs to 125 psi. the one i got for free is was broken ( hence the "free" part) I replaced the parts and retapped it but it took 37 mins to fill to 80 psi! so i just conected the two using some hose and a tee so i can fill them both in a little over a min. this gives me like 50 total gallons. but anyway if you want quality i would buy craftsman in my opinion they are the best.

Shandora you can use any source of pressurized gas. For pressurized air you can use a bike pump, air compressor, etc. But you also can use CO2, Hydrogen, anything you want but air is most commonly used because cost is more practical then other gases. Basically the qualifications to be a pneumatic is using pressurized gas to propel a projectile (Which of course as im trying to point out can be acheived many different ways and methods). Hopefully that clears up the confusion. DTD about the whole craftsman quailty most people ive heard say all there products suck but I have used some good craftman stuff. So if you do buy a craftsmen compressor do some research into which one is going to be good for you (fast fill rate, big tank, maneuverablity, etc) Im not a super big craftsman fan even though my dad is a Craftsman freak. Every tool we have is Craftsman except for a few of his ultra favorite brand Bosch tools.
