I think that is to clearly differentiate between spudguns and firearms. Linking these two items on the same website would associate them and possibly help to make them illegal. I support this but I would like to see a section dedicated to professional AIR guns including airsoft, pellet, bb, etc.

I dunno, I remember back on Spudtech Mr. Plow posted his entire arsenal with no negative effect. I really don't think it would be such a bad idea, as spudguns and real guns share the same golden safety rules anyways.

you can put in the the none spud gun related section... a real firearm has absolutely nothing to do with spud guns, hence why this is spudfiles and not metalslugfiles.

We can't have sub sections until the new update, if I remember being told by PCGUY correctly.

Otherwise, not sure. I personally don't mind. But it's really up to PCGUY and what he wants for this site and what he feels is best for the site.

I dont think we should allow a firearms showcase it would make people relate spudguns to firearms which we dont want to happen as it would be bad for the hobbie.Go search on google firearms forum Im sure theres a couple out there you can show off your guns there.

In my opinion, there isn't much point. In my mind, it would run a bit like:
"Oh great. Someone has the money to go out to a gun store and buy a shotgun."

Compare that to what my mind says when it sees a nice launcher:
"Someone put a lot of thought, time and some real effort into designing and building that."

This site is about showcasing and discussing spudguns - each of which has it's own originality and character.
And there are other sites for showcasing and discussing firearms - if you're the type that wants people to be impressed that you have the money for a gun, or is impressed that other people have that money, I think you'd be better served going to one of those sites.

If I want to see a picture of a firearm, I'll go to a site like World Guns - not come here. I'm not impressed by seeing one man's store bought rifle or handgun that is essentially exactly the same as someone else's.
I'll admit to having some inert ammunition on my shelf, but I don't consider it a particularly impressive thing to do - if I were to offer to show you a picture of the 9mm round, you'd probably be about as fussed as I am about the prospect of seeing your Mossberg 500 - it's not unique, and you can see one any time you want with a simple internet search.

I hope you can see why I don't really feel it's needed - and as I don't really feel that spudguns and firearms should be mixed any more than they are in the public mind, my vote goes against it. No offence intended.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

[/sarcasm]

if the name isn't catchy enough i can add some more vowels.

We cant involve firearms into spudfiles.
Spudguns and firearms are two things we would like to keep SEPARATED
If everyone in the world would look upon spudguns as if it were firearms, they would be way less legal and way less accepted.
Okay, a spudgun may be some sort of firearm, but we just had a thread about a pyrotechnics sub section, wich was also declined with the same reasons.
We want to keep spudding a legal thing, and dont want to give the world any bad looks onto it.
Till the day I'm dieing, I'll keep them spuddies flying, 'cause I can!

Yeah, I'm afraid I don't want to see them on here either, I can go elsewhere for that. I don't mind the odd air-rifle particularly if it's used as a discussion point into the mechanics of the thing, and likewise assorted nailguns, etc.

But we do have a strict "no solid propellant" rule on here and any real firearm fits into that category.

Also, it'd mainly be full of Americans showing what they can buy aged 6 with no proof of identity.

Yeah, I think Rag has it right. I don't mind people posting pics of their arsenals, but a subsection would be kinda outta place.

You can post them in the non-spudgun related section, but an entire section for it isn't needed.
