SpudFiles, Theopia, and BCARMS will all be down starting around 1am CST on January 23rd. They should only be down for around 6 hours while I have my virtual server moved to a different hardware node.

Are you getting a newer/faster or just less congested server...or both maybe?

I am not sure if the new node I am moving to is faster (I will find out when we are there) but I am told it is less congested and will defiantly be newer since we are currently on node6 and there are like 20 nodes now (6 was newest when I started).

The server will be moved tonight, plans for it were delayed last night.

Ah I wish I had rode this before. It came as an unfortunate surprise.
Is it possible to reroute the address to a temporary page which shows something like:
"Spudfiles is down. Its estimated to be back tomorrow"
It would be more comfortable then getting a "page cannot be found" error screen.

There is no simple way of showing a page like that when you are literally moving a server. It would involve redirecting the URL's to go to another server, and by the time the changes would propagate across the Internet, I would be changing them back to the original settings. Changing things like that online is not instant, it takes hours to update across the globe.
Regardless, the migration is done and has been successful.

Nice job! It didn't seem to be down that long...2 or 3 hours at the most.
Also, I just now had to go back into my profile and set the time at my location. It was 8 hrs too early. It actually wasn't letting me post.
I suggest everyone check this setting in their profile.
