Merits list...

I was thinking... It would be kinda cool if we made an official set of merit badges. For example... There could be a speed of sound merit... Maybe a piston valve merit... Or even fps or penetration merits...

Just a thought...

Now gimme yours!

?!
That's mine...

1-What the heck is the use of clubs?
2-We already have sections to divide the board.
3-We are one community and do not need sub-communities.
4-Creating sub-communities will probably reduce the quality of the main one.
5-Using clubs to unite people with the same interests.... well, that's what spudfiles is for, to unite spudders, there is no need to unite (and separate) the piston-valvers or the speed-of-sounders.

UNot clubs to talk to certain people only.
I mean things more like rankings.

I was thinking it could encourage people to make new things.

Also It would just be something to put in your signature.

It would just say "hey, I have built a piston cannon" (not gloating) "now you should too!"

I also think it would be a bad idea to separate spudders more.

I wasn't meaning to say that.

I don't see the point either. At most it will lead to slight forums divisions.

I still don't see how this would lead to separation. Will someone explain how? I don't mean club really but more of a medal or award. I just thought it would promote amatures with spray'n prays to make advance combustions.

Oh well, just scrap the idea since everyone thinks it's crap :? :(...

Because I've built a cannon that goes the speed of sound, and with an award to prove it I'm above you weak simple combustion types.

Well I guess you could say that but you would have to kind of be a jerk to say that...

But I do see your point.

I was viewing it as more of an always running competition.
Kind of like a video game I guess...

Your view of it makes it seem like people on here could do that with things like post count or spud bucks... Which I don't think anyone does.

For example:

Im better than you because I have more spud bux/higher post count than you.

Post count isn't an award. And award for building something is.
Kind of like a video game I guess...
Console wars come to mind..

Anyone who says that deserves a smack. I will personally deliver the smack too.

Sounds like fun. We need to find a game that only needs fair specs and can be downloaded free so everyone has the chance to play. Any ideas?

Sorry no ideas but that would be awesome.

I'm not sure they would be clubs as much as they would be "merit badges" of sorts. Some things would be self evident, piston valve, etc. Others would need video and metric proof, like speed of sound.

I think the idea has some "merit"...

THANK YOU STARMAN!!! That is EXACTLY what I've been trying to say.
I just thought that it would be neat to make certain merit type things that are just on a list somewhere on the site... For people to put in their signatures... Now tell me if you still think it's a bad idea. Some of you might...
