Shout box and homepage comment box
There needs to be a shout box on this site. like a chatroom thats always on. right on the page 24/7. those things are awesome. then, this site needs a comment box at the very bottom of the home page. then we can put comments there and say like "whens the next official contest" and then people could reply/respond "its gonna be soon" i think these attributes would be nice.

nahhh it's a great idea really... no one has time to enter the chatroom and wait for someone to join... let's face it, normally there are just 3 or 5 member at one time and most of us do other stuff while browsing the site... so the chatroom is not very useful
anyway there are lots of threads asking stupid questions... like is ASA compatible with BSP ?
or even something more basic than that... people wouldn't have to start a new thread to ask questions but instead they could post them in the shoutbox

I've always kind of leaned away from the idea of a shout box because usually a bunch of crap ends up getting posted in them. Plus if someone asks a serious question in one, it doesn't stick around for people say the next day to read and respond... the question gets buried among everything else put into the shout box right after the question.

Knowing the stuff we talk about in the chatroom a shout box is a waste. If you have a question unworthy of a thread use the PM, or be in the chatroom between 8PM and 11PM GMT+1. But I agree to a brain storming thread of some sort where anything spud related goes(according to rules and minmal common sense).

I like the shout boxes for questions like "what should be my next cannon?" or who knows of any good plans for a paintball/airsoft mine?" i was searching throught the forum for a 45 minutes and i finally found some good ideas for a mine. these situations are just dieing for a shout box. besides, why care about if a whole bunch of crap gets in it? all you have to do is take a quick glance for any ummmmmm, oh yeah. legitiment questions.

That said, many questions are regularly asked on the forum that even a basic search could have answered...PCGUY wrote:the question gets buried among everything else put into the shout box right after the question.
