I want to make one point clear. I apologize in advance for any flame-war this may spark, and I'm not going to read any further replies. All I know is that I warned Bryce and I wish it had not turned out this way.
I do think using drugs is bad, and I'm not going to hide my feelings when someone I warned dies from a drug overdose. I knew exactly what happened after I read the thread title, and I truly wish I could have prevented Bryce's death. Bryce was a victim. I wrote that because I care.
It is a complete shame that Bryce died, especially at such a young age. And there was a lot of good to his life, especially as he choose the right hobby. But I don't think we should ignore what killed him. This is an opportunity for others to avoid the same fate and live an even fuller life.
From what I've read, statements like my own have no long-term effect on most people's attitudes about drugs, so you're wrong. I don't think that's a reason to not warn people, though.I think that's exactly the sort of statement that will make kids want to try drugs.
