it really depends on the gun and ammo.

20 psi could kill you with some guns.

the swat.

I find 2.5 (or any length for that matter) inch nails with tissue coned up on the end (non pointy bit) very effective out of my 15mm copper pneumatic. Shoots into wood no problem.

For dart aa batters just go to a hobby store and get a few rocket nose cones and glue them on.

yeah i found out too that the caulk tips are for free :) hahahaha suckas they cant stop you if you walked out with the lot!!!

Anyway I put the screw point out and cut off the ring and fill with sand for extra weight, tape the end down and grind a nasty tip into it! they work a treat

ok, I would just like to finalize the whole dart/rocket etc. debate, as model rockets used to be my life.

1) the little cap added on the end is the equivalent of the fins, this means that adding one on the front would destroy the COP(center of pressure) and make the thing fly horribly.
2) AA batteries are not at all aerodynamic, as they have no stabilization, so they flip all over the place and enter sideways half of the time.
3) attaching a little cap-like thing to the front of a battery would improve the battery, but not by giving it a pointy tip. the cap, because it is so light would move the CP way up, but the CG (center of gravity) would stay in the same place, so the battery would instantly turn around, but then fly quite straight after that.

hope this cleared up some of the questions
