Watto's Sprinkler Cannon

Well my gun is pretty much finished, I might give it another coat of paint if I get a chance and I'm still waiting on a green laser laser pointer which I'll use for aiming but apart from that shes done.

The 40mm barrel is 110cm long and the 80mm chamber is about 40cm. All the pipe is class18 (~Sch80)

I've only shot it at about 70PSI probably with a bike pump, but I'm going to buy a little compressor today. All shots in the video are potatoes at around 40PSI except the wooden steak.

This cannon look quite nice. I would replace the reducer (is that a reducer?) with a reduce bushing and replace the tape with a hose clamp.

Nice gun, but horid font size and color! 12pt black is the default for a reason...

I can't find a hose clamp big enough anywhere. How on earth would I swap the reducer for a reduce bushing when its all glued? And why would I want to? Is a reduce bushing stronger or something?

Cut it off, 99% of the time bell reducers aren't pressure rated, bushings are.

That reducer is class 18 or PN18 or something close to american Sch80. The parts are from a specialist plumbing store not bunnings or some hardware place, they look double or triple the thickness of DWV.

Nice gun, my first sprinkler gun was very close to that. Great job, the reducer does look like it isn't dwv. So I would say over one of the cleanest over under's with a sprinkler valve ever.

More pressure! You should be taking that to at least 150 psi, buy yourself a decent strirrup pump and exploit the power potentail

Wow thanks , this is my first proper pneumatic I had a dodgy little ball valve gun ages ago but the cops took it. I might try to make some kind of piston gun next, now I've got the hang of it, I have 60cm of class 18 80mm left over and a few other bits and pieces.

I bought a compressor today it plugs into your cars cigarette lighter and I've strapped it into the boot and ran the wires under the kick panels so you just plug it in up the front wait a minute or so then go check it, it goes really slow but the guy charged me half price for some reason so it was only 12 bucks.

I might get really good stirrup pump as well to use when I'm away from the car

A stirrup pump is much faster and not really that much of an effort.

I agree with jack get a stirrup pump. If you have a 12volt car battery charger you can clip it on to the ciggy lighter and it will work fine.

Get a stirrup, car air compressors are worse then bike pumps and just as slow, they require more effort to get going then a stirrup would to fill the chamber with 100psi

They usually break before 100psi.
