i couldnt be more happy about my first piston valve gun, it looks cool, shoots hard, pumps fast(1 pump means 10 psi), and a very unique trigger, a friggin pop-off valve.

too bad i used so much plumber goop epoxy its not even funny, all the threads are crooked, and the pilot valve is a cap held down with nothing but 3 layers of teflon and a hose clamp, no screws or glue!

oh, and it is not a 1/2" barrel, for the PERFECT fit for nails, i used some tube that was 1/8" ID, 1/4" OD pipe, that had an end attached that fit perfectly into a 3/4" tee and had a perfect sealing surface for me.

the piston is great, since i mounted the barrel a little off, the piston is a 1/2" pipe with tape, spring, a metal washer, a layer of felt so it is flexible to seal on any angle up to 3 degrees, and then 2 layers of rubber.

since the pilot is not really glued or screwed, i wont shoot higher than 40 psi.

leave any comments but dont comment on it's looks

does look like a m16 without a stock, doesnt it? the pump looks like a m203 attached.

i see a white gun and i want it painted black. gonna do that tomorro or someday.

oh, does any1 have any sort of personal techniques? when i epoxy a thread, i epoxy, teflon, epoxy again then teflon again then hose clamped.

i wasnt that sure if the piston seals up, so i want to be able to remove it easily

you might think it's held by friction, but teflon tape is a natural lube... that sucks... i'll tap and bolt it some day

i see you people have creative imaginations, wouldn't it be better if you had a bigger chamber?

today i had a really fun day at school, i was shooting bottles during lunch, i actually hit one in mid air! then i discovered y it should be called a m16, it jams every few shots! i had to smake it to get it to seal again.

i shortened the pilot by 2 milimeters, hooked the shrader to a blowgun, and blasted away!! the cap still hasnt blown and i didnt even use teflon or clamps or anything.

half the time i took out the piston, i forget to put it back in...

this will make a great semi auto

i can get to shooting pressure in less than a second, if it was any bigger then it would slow down.

i bet i can use this as a bbmg too if i had another shrader on top

also put some vinyl tube on the ring so firing is more comfy

impressed the shit outta my friends. hardy fits in my bag, i want to make the handle detachable, but the hardware stores ran out of threaded adapters.

Bring it to school !?!?! .one word for ya:trouble that is very innovative, with the pop-off valve, and I really like the configueation of the gun. . On the piston valve, for a few bucks more, put a blowgun on there, like a trigger

when your hardware store gets the threaded
parts, put one in the back, behind the piston valve, like this this way,you can glue it,then unscrew it to acess the piston

:::{ <this screws into here> |::]-

: repersents the pipe
] repersents the endcap
- repersents the blowgun tapped into the endcap
{ repersents the female adaptor
| repersents the male adapter

all i would need is a female and a male, they are fresh out of females, so i am going to get 2 males and 1 steel coupling first chance i get

my finger almost got blown off, the pilot didnt hold past 40 psi, the piston also broke

so now its held by one screw, the piston used super glue instead of hot glue

before i shortened the pilot, i can shoot at 20 psi, now i must pump to 40 for it to work even a bit, that means 2 more pumps...

the compressor sure is fun to use, i can spray air like a paintball gun

How does this look like an M 16? And WTF were you thinking bringing that to school, and on top of that SHOOTING it in school. If someone saw you or worse, YOU HIT SOMEONE, you would have been arrested. The pop off valve is kinda stupid replace it with a blowgun. You might want to do some more research before you build anymore.

I was not dumb enough to shoot it in school, let along let anyone see it

oh atlantis, i would BEG to differ about my choice of valves:

pop offs have FAR greater flow than a blowgun

cost about the same, a blowgun would have needed a 1/4" nipple

pop offs are tiny, blowguns are bulky

blowguns are not nice to hold with lever facing front, facing back(the way you use it non-spudgun applications) look horrible

also i intended this gun to be a full auto, pressure hits 100, it fires on it's own.

when i got the pop off, it already had pink teflon on it

the more pressure, the easier it is to pull

i had a chance to shop at a new place

now lets hear your side of the argument on blowguns...

after i eliminate all the leaks, I'll paint it.

as for a red dot, those run at about $70 at any store around these parts, i'll make a knock off with a pipe and green coloured plastic (simulated night vision lmao)

range, 30 psi will go about 50 meters, shot at 45 degrees

after the leaks are fixed, I'm adding a few 1/8" fittings to make a semi auto to shoot flour dough balls

i put soap water on the gun and found that it leaks right through 3 layers of solid and dry plumbers good epoxy! i cant pump and hold the pressure past 40psi, falls back to 30 in 5 seconds. so i am going to sand down most of the remaining epoxy and add another layer.

lets hear that argument on pro blowguns, con popoffs

edit: http://media.putfile.com/fullautotest1 no ammo or loading mechanism of any kind, clock shown to show that i was not cheating

edit: i recorded this with a mp3 player, not edited
