Steel tubing.

I am making a sniper gun out of galvanised steel tubing. I know that some copper tubes can handle up to about 300-400 psi but what about galvanised steel? Any ideas would be useful cos if it blows up its gonna kill.....

it wont blow up, unless you have 10,000 psi running through it.

weakest parts are the threads,and the fitting will fly off in which ever direction they are aimed and also they are rated to around 6000 psi,so you should be fine.

I was wondering about some 3" exhaust pipe i have left over from my van, i'm sure it will handle any amount of presure my air compresser can put out. But it would be nice to know the numbers.

Galvanized steel in 1" can take ~2-3 thousand psi. I forget the exact number, but you get the idea - it's quite safe to put unregulated CO2 in it... infact, you can safely put CO2 in 2" steel pipe.

Though you may have a bit of trouble sealing the threads...

you're not gonna get over 200 psi with a home depot brand air compressor id be suprised if you got one that goes over 160 psi

my portable one only goes up to 150 lbs, my 30 gal. goes up to 160 and i got it for around $300

Get an industrial one,that is used in water spayers they can get up to 800psi only problem is swapping it from lipuids to gases.....lol

With H2O2 I can have a self recharging air tank with as much presure as I want.But if it overheat oh well...

If it's filled up to 25 % liquid it should be fine if it warms up..

yeah thanks guys, i might stick with the old stirrup pump for the moment. Only thing is it takes 10 mins to pump up my Mega C-10 up to 15 psi

I don't have a compresor too.And I'm useing an old car tire pomp for all my pneumatics and strafers.But as someone said it's like going to fitnes.
