I went to the hardware store today and found that a 1 1/4" coupler fits over a Rainbird 1" Automatic Anti-Siphon Valve (U-bend), with a little room to spare. I figure that a length of 1 1/4" pipe would fit well over the solenoid, however I wasn't able to conduct this test for fear of suspicious employees. When I visit the store again I will have more definite results.

I've been thinking about how he connects the handle to the barrel :?

You know the part he grips and locks into the tee, well if he threaded something into the barrel, he would have to make it flush with the inside, and that doesn't leave much for anything to grip on.

Anyone got any clues to how he does it?

The barrel handle looks to me like he just secured an endcap to the barrel with epoxy.

Yeah It looks so, I was just thinking if epoxy would hold it well enough. I 'spose it does have quite a large surface area and low centre of gravity and wouldn't come of all that easy.

Gentlemen, I'm new to the site, but I've seen this cannon before. It's what I based mine on. You can see fairly detailed specs on it here:

And yes, that handle is just epoxied on there, and it holds very well.

OH, and to whomever asked about the rockets, I find that these fly a little farther with a little more accuracy than the Nerf ones. The only catch is that they work best under 180 fps. Mine shoots at about 175fps, so they work fantastically for me.

As far as I know, it's just a piece of PVC coupled over the end of the valve in order to encase the electronics. If I were to do something like that, I'd probably epoxy on a coupler, then have that whole section slip off. But it looks like he's cemented the pipe to the valve, then put a threaded coupler and a cap on the end of it. Since it's designed for paintball, and paintball doesn't stop for rain, this design would help with being more weather resistant. If you like, I'm a member at both the SpecOps forum and A5OG, and I can ask him for something more precise regarding that section.

Thanks, that would be great. That's what I assumed he did to connect the pipe to the sprinkler valve, but I wanted someone to confirm it.

There are such things as "slip tees." For some reason a direct link isnt working but they'll have em somewhere on www.flexpvc.com.

To my knowledge from looking at the pictures is that he didn't make any modifications to the valve at all. It looks as though it is simply actuated electronically.

None. He initially had a pneumatic pilot, but he was having trouble because the valve was opening too quickly. I had similar issues with my Watermaster. He said he was going to attempt to drill out the hole that the solenoid uses to pilot, but I don't know of he ever did.
