Does anybody know if ABS pipe is safe to the same pressures as PVC? From the look and feel of it, it seems much more sturdy. If anyone can let me know or give me a source where I may find out I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks!

I'll be running the system off a co2 tank hooked up with a regulator to get it to about 100psi, then it will go through a watermaster sprinkler valve, and the abs pipe will only be for the barrel.Andrew52 wrote:well abs isnt pressure rated so dont use it in a pneaumatic just use it in combustions
I assume this would be ok? / safer than pvc?

I think i'll need to use a threaded pvc fitting to attach to the valve, and then to an abs threaded thingy.
Aren't there specially made cements etc. to bond pvc with abs?
Or I could use a metal fitting to connect the pcv to the abs. Would this be better?

You can get PVC male threaded adapters, and you can get ABS female threaded adapters. That's the best reliable meathod to join them.
Yes, such glue exists, but it's not very effective, and can't be trusted for pressure.
Overall, though, you should be ok using ABS for your barrel. But don't blame me if it fails and you have to buy another one...

Ya just get them off of mcmaster. I searched for sooooo long trying to find 3" o-rings locally and it took me 10 minutes to find them at mcmaster. Huge selection!
