Does anyone know where to buy a can crusher near middletown ohio? Me and my dad are looking for one that you load six cans into and then it crushes one can drops it out the bottom and then another can drops down to be crushed. Ace's site says they have them but we have called seven today and none of them really do.
So if you know anywhere that we can get the crusher please tell me.
The one we are looking for: http://www.acehardware.com/product/inde ... 1669516803
Or one that holds more than one at once.
And we do not want to order it online. We would prefer going to get it today.

Make one yourself!
A 50lb chunk of 3" steel bar at the top of a tube about 8 feet high should do the job nicely, and with a built-in mechanical advantage, you could even reset it to crush more cans

I second that notion!DYI wrote:Make one yourself!
You could even make one with a pneumatic ram that crushes the cans!
It's hard to soar with eagles when you're working with turkeys.
wow, a waste of money =p. I say you just step on it! (or crush it in your fist)

You could get a few dozen 500 joule bus grade capacitors and make a nice induction-based can crusher
(I know, I'm a lot of help. But unless you want to make one yourself it might be hard to get, especially from a store. Try ebay, maybe?)

I vote for doing it spudder's style: pneumatic ram.
Besides saving money of buying one, it would be a lovely project to build and play around with crushing or trying to crush random junk throughout the house.
Or start a website with the name: "Will it crush?"

Combine these two ideas, and you could be on to a winner, although you'd really need a slow motion camera to properly capture the pancaked demises of the items in question.DYI wrote:A 50lb chunk of 3" steel bar at the top of a tube about 8 feet high
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?
Ah crap this topic just got me another project on my "things i want to make" list.
But I gotta finish a few other projects first before I start on a crusher.
