I decided to abandon my combustion project and return the returnable parts, and from it i have about 8 feet of 4" sch 40 left... I wanted to build something rather large... any idea? It has to be only pnuematic, i can buy any fittings that can be bought in a home depot or lowes, pipe as well... and valves. Basically anything at home depot or lowes can be used, as long as it doesnt cost an obsurd amount of money. So... any ideas? I was considering just doing a simple cannon but it didnt seem very...fun...

try to break the sound barrier with joels! i was amazed by how simple joels was when i saw it. just a regular pneumatic with a supah valve and super long barrel. it would be hard to do though unless you could make a valve with equal flow of a supah or had the money to buy one.

I would make a coxial piston cannon. Make it 8" long. They are very easy to make.

And with the chamber being 8feet long, you can have a 10 foot barrel. If you make it, it will be powerful. SUPER POWERFUL

if you're using 4" you wont be able to find any pressure rated fittings at lowes or home depot, they dont stock pressure rated over 2" you will have to go online for those fittings, http://www.plumbingsupply.com or http://www.mcmaster.com are great places for parts

By the way the 8 feet is cut into about 5 and 3 feet pieces. Also, regardless of how bad i would want to make an 18 foot gun, it would never happen... too big lol.

The gun would only be 10feet if it was a coaxal.
