Nipple into chamber wiggles a bit, what do i do?

Should i epoxy it or something? it moves around and im afraid eventually it will crack the chamber. I mean my propane meter by all this.

what size? i would use a bolt that will fit in tightly, plug it and epoxy it

its a 1/4" nipple, its goign through a coupler too tho, so coupler and 4" sch 40 its going through , it doesnt come out the other end for a bolt. Other end goes into a 1/4 street.

maybe get a longer 1/4" nipple, just put about 6 layers of teflon around it before threading it in and it shouldn't wiggle unless you tapped it wrong...

Why wouldn't you use the street side of the elbow to go into the chamber and the nipples to go from the female side of the elbow into the ball valve?

Is this a result of tapping with the fitting? If so I dont feel sorry for you and get a damn pipe tap... Even worse you proably tapped it with the teflon on... It could also be a possible result of whatever you connected into there wasnt fastened down then flopped around and weakend the friction fit. I would say to tap a 3/8" plug into the same hole, and re-tap the right way the hole for whatever your threading in.

Did you use a tap or force the fitting into the pipe? If you did use a tap, did you drill the correct size hole?
Either way, go get a bigger tap (like 3/8) and drill and tap a bigger hole. Then thread the 1/4 fitting into a bushing to fit into the new hole and thread this whole thing in.

hmmm maybe i just used the wrong size drill bit, i used a 1/4 npt tap.... i think it was a 3/8 drill bit or something. You cant pull the fitting out, so its only off very slightly, but its just anoying.

I you were using a 1/4" NPT tap you should have used a 7/16" drill bit not a 3/8" that's probably your problem. I would drill a 45/64" hole and tap it for 1/2" NPT and get a 1/2" NPT to 1/4" NPT bushing.

a 3/8 hole is smaller than a 7/16 so that dosn't cause a prob. i always use a 3/8 when tapping 1/4 inch ntp

get yellow(thick) teflon tape, for gas line, give it 6 or7 rapps and turn it in. the other prob is you could have tapped into the plastic too far becuse the NTP is taperd

I would still consider drilling the hole out and re-tapping. PVC threads are weak enough as it is without being over-sized. But then again I don't even like to tap into PVC.

what most probably must of happened then is i didnt drill perfectly straight i must have leaned into it a bit and made a weird hole, o well it happens.

By the way i went to home depot and the 7/16 drill bit is ..huge... a slight mistake and the hole is ruined...
