I ordered a lawngenie valve from homedepot.com and damnit I got the wrong one! Seems to have a guide rod-
and the lid-

I cant find a way to mod around it at all. If anyone has modded this type of valve before please tell how you did it..

Thanks

Really? Hmm...Would it be ok to let it hit the bottom of the valve? Just wanna make sure cause I wont have the cash for a new one for a while.

You don't need the guide rod. Just pull it out and leave the hole in the diaphragm. The diaphragm need an equalization hole anyway.

I've never modified a lawngenie valve but on my orbit mod I just remove the guide rod and it works just great. the hole on orbits is less then 1/16" in diameter but that might be smaller than the holes on lawngenies.
Torch you should post a close up of the diaphragm.

Just finished modding it by bending the rod into a L shape and adding the blowgun, seems to hold water ok so it should work with air. Thanks for the help.

I modded one with a guide rod,i rmeoved the guide rod and filled the hole with epoxy, after it dried and hardend i heated a needle till it was red hot and pushed it through the epoxy so there was a small hole instead fot the large hole form the guide rod,and it worked well.
