After my first successful copper gun, I decided I would give brass a try after I found a source of cheap brass tubing. This is yet another copy of JSR's pen gun with a couple differences; its soldered together, the piston is serviceable and I built a different way of actuating the schrader valve.
The gun is about a 1' 4" made from a 3mm tube and a larger tube I forgot the dimensions of, the piston is the back of a bic pen that I turned down to the right diameter on the drill press. I used a bushing soldered to the chamber to make to piston serviceable.
I decided because this gun holds pressure for a very long time, I wanted to have a trigger system that was attached to the schrader so I didnt have to find an airsoft bb or small rod every time I wanted to fire, so I built a little trigger mechanism that is friction fit onto the schrader and has a bicycle spoke that pushes in the schraders pin.
Only one damage pic for now, I should be getting a compressor that I can take this to over 300 psi with soon, but for now Im stuck at the one eighty my bike pump can do. I was test firing at some cans in my garage, missed and broke a glass sitting on my work bench. It also went through two full soda can lined up, hopefully tomorrow I'll have pics off this and a video. My ammo is small nails.

You'll be glad with the performance once you take it to higher pressures
The trigger mechanism reminds me of the one I eventially fitted to this project.

Hi, my first comment. The pen gun is looking good all you now need to do is make it look like a pen, or put it into a pen. Mine is for a chav deterant.
Ive made a few spud launchers before and recently just made a bb gun that works on pressures at 300psi and over using a homemade solenoid valve. (just search airsoft homemade solenoid valve on youtube)
I have two gun projects on at the moment, a semi-automatic 500psi bb gun, and also a pen gun- only about 110mm long, will look like a pen and shoot 177cal bb`s
Got to get a pump first, the piston seal blew on my last one - was testng gun up to 400psi.
just got to finish making them

Here, if you're going for looks. Here's my pen gun. I think it is the undisputed champion of look-alike-pen-guns on the site.joepage2008x2 wrote:Hi, my first comment. looks like i have some competition then, my design pumps up from the barrel because this makes construction easier and also the valve works like a check valve. It will fire anything that is 4.5mm (177cal) although i can make pens with thinner/thicker barrel diameters. It may have a safety so i dont always shoot it in my pocket, i will show how all this works when i post a topic.
Got all of the parts, just got to get an old fridge compressor or get someone to lend me their pump. I will try and set up a chronograph with my computor to measure its velocity with different projectiles including the pen nib.
