A review, since it is an opinion, is never "slander", since it is not possible to disprove an opinion. To libel/defame/slander someone you must be making a claim of fact.
So something like "XYZ's gun's are POS and will kill you" may be defamation if it is false. Whereas "In my opinion, XYZ's gun's are POS and will kill you" is not defamation since it is clearly an opinion and not a statement of fact. An opinion does not have to be true.
