I build the pistol in an afternoon, my goal was to make a small, but powerful pistol type cannon.

Spec's
Chamber: 2'' Pvc
Barrel: 1'' Pvc in a 1 foot length
Valve: super modded 1'' sprinkler vavle
Pilot valve: blow gun
Fill valve: bike valve

Features: Breech loading clip system. (The clip is not in the pics)

EDIT: the shot in the video was at about 20 psi.

I wouldn't put it past 70 or 80 psi if I were you. It's a great looking little gun but I spy a DWV coupler on the chamber. Safety first.

That is not a dwv coupler, it is a pressure rated schedule 40 coupler.
ive been making air cannons for years, i know the difference.

And, that is my fiancee in the first photo

Interesting...
You don't see many pistols twice as long as a forearm...

could be easily mistaken for two firearms....

On paper that is....

For a 1'' PVC air cannon, this thing is tiny. the gun is about 1 foot long. The barrel is not necessary, as the ball valve breech acts as a short barrel, but i choose to use a barrel for improved range.

BTW, my rifle is over 6 feet long. and will toss a bouncy ball a half mile easily.

Yeah, this looks more like a compact rifle, this one of mine is probobly more compact:Image
And it is a 2 hand rifle and has more chamber space and a longer barrel. Now, granted, it's a .50 cal, but still.

I kinda find that a bit hard to believe, you do realize 1/2 mile is 2640 feet, I highly doubt a pvc rifle could go that far. I'm not saying for sure, but I'm just saying that's hightly doubtfull. My large pneumatic .50 cal goes only 500' at 100 psi shooting wooden dowels.

now pvc cannons can shoot stuff 1/2mile but not easily
my big huge cannon with a 10ft barrel (the short one) was shooting about 450ft at 40psi, crappy angle, and the ammo was a half full soda can that spun sideways rapidy in flight causing it to loose its water and slow down. if i used a full soda can it would shoot farther but still not a half mile

The coupler is either DWV or you didn't solvent weld the bushing very well, seeing as it's sticking halfway out.
Maverik94, half a mile is actually 2640 feet, which is probably still an exaggerated figure, but a bit different.
That's nearly 9 football fields to put things into perspective.

actually a half mile is 2640ft one mile is 5280ft
the easiest way to avoid any problems with converting units is to switch to metric system

half a mile with this gun ?? no way

I agree half a mile is way too optimistic. If not a flat out lie. MOst pneumatics on this site dont even come close to that.
Yeah, it's that important.

Depends what you're willing to call a pistol ;)

I'm surprised there haven't been any "bouncy ball" jibes considering the inclusion of a fiancee pic, of course I won't stoop to that level :) Nice effort, it could conceivably be made more compact though and having the ball valve breech touching the sprinkler valve would give you less dead space and more barrel length thus increasing power.

Thread cleaned up.

Nice simple cannon, looks like a great picture. You should post that 6' rifle of yours, shooting a bouncy ball 1/2 a mile is simply astonishing.

Edit: Please keep on topic people. We'll deal with the 1/2 mile claim if he gets round to posting the cannon on Spudfiles. Until then, comment on this cannon.
