I was considering using a hose spray gun on a air gun but was hesident about the pressure. I have seen several guns on the site using it to pilot a piston valve but wasn't sure about it. What pressure would it be safe to use it up too.

Ive had them upto 400psi

No one made for hooking up to your garden hose.

I usedthis one at 90 psi with no problems.

Those aren't made for high pressures, nor are they made for pneumatics.
Why may this fail (and trigger your gun prematurely):
-The can't handle a lot of pressure. (Maybe some brands can, but I advise against using them)
-They are made for water, not for air. Air is much thinner and will leak.
-Some of them may be pushed open by the air pressure, depending on how they work.

Grab a blowgun and be safe.

Well I wouldn't use them. Unsafe and should be avoided when you can.

I used one up to 160 psi with no leaks, I made a little multishot plinker here
