I am tryng to make a pneumatic canon and i asked a friend who is a mechanic to give me a schrader valve.... He gave me a schrader that is one of the ones used in common car tires and is made of full rubber. i am wondering if it will work for a canon of under 100 psi pressures.

if installed properly, it will work fine. The problem is, it is very difficult to install perfectly. The NPT schrader valves are easy; tap a 1/4" hole, use three wraps of teflon tape, and screw it in.

For this schrader, is there a small ridge in rubber "bulb"? If there is, I am pretty sure that is the place where the schrader gets locked it

Good luck trying to fit it in perfectly...

Simply drill a 1/2" hole through where a coupling or adapter overlaps your chamber pipe, then pull the valve stem through from the outside with pliers until it pops into place. The ridge will pop over the top of the hole. I coated the one on my first pneumatic with some epoxy to make sure it sealed.

You really go it to go through two layers? The one I have can't. They really aren't hard to install.

You mean a schrader with rubber around the stem and and then a rubber bell shape at the bottom?

Those are great for cannons. Just make a hole in a cap and pull the valve through and it pops into place and makes a perfect seal.
