Thanks, I googled it and many people use it to clean off labels and dirt from PVC
That is all.

Acetone is WIDELY used as a final wipe for a cleaning prep to do paint work.

Wipe is the operative term. Acitone is highly volatile and evaporates quickly. It can safely be used for light coats of quick dry paint and for a quick wipe to clean the surface of the pipe.

A heavy (drippy) coat of paint or excessive soaking with a rag in one spot is bad as it allows the chemical to soak in instead of quickly dry off the surface. I use it in prep for painting with a quick wipe to remove fingerprints, pipe ink markings, etc. I never let it linger on the surface. I ensure it dries quickly.

Paint is applied in several very light coats and allowed to dry between coats.

I wouldn't worry about the acetone. Don't soak the PVC in it but the amount in paint is not going to be a problem. Any that is absorbed by the PVC will evaporate back out again. Heck, glue and primer both contain acetone and they are used between two layers of pipe. Given the recommended 24 hour glue drying time the acetone diffuse out of the PVC and disappears. The PVC is no worse for the longish term exposure to the acetone.
