Why can't people come up with original names anymore? I made my most frequent username DocAnubis about 3 and a half years ago, and I thought it was pretty original. Recently I've seen many people use the name and some have actually TM'ed it, those jerks. I googled DocAnubis and 109 results came up, 1 of which was me, even some Emails are copies of mine, I might email them and ask where they came up with the name.

If people can't come up with original or meaningful names just put newbie until you do come up with something better.

Email names, forum names, video game accounts, etc. One guy runs a site that apparently makes up magic spells and feels the right to type this on it "©Docanubis 2006, All rights reserved" which proves my name is older .

edit: nope, no name stealer's, although it comes up with all the forums I'm a member of, except killa's, and this one other one.
there is a doctor with a name that is a slight variation of my username, though.

Screw what other people have as their username.

I can make a reasonable guess without having to google it that Hotwired is being used by other people as a username.

Anything quick and simple is very likely to be thought of by more than one person.

The whole point is to have something to identify you and you lose that if you intentionally go and take one someone else is using in the same area you are active in.

I believe that my username is entirely unique - a google search gives 5,600 results, which as far as I could be arsed to check was me.

Putting in a space gives 42 results, most of which are people and their family trees, but a handful of which are me.

Deko - it took me 3 seconds to work it out. Have you just written your name backwards?
Novacastrian: How about use whatever the heck you can get your hands on?
frankrede: Well then I guess it won't matter when you decide to drink bleach because your out of kool-aid.
...I'm sorry, but that made my year.
