If you happen to use extensions that "speed up" web pages and prefetch pages, please disable it for SpudFiles.
You are only hurting SpudFiles (and other websites for that matter) by doing that.
If you have no idea what I am talking about, please ignore this post.
Thanks!

This is not a bandwidth issue, it's a server resource issue. If your Firefox is told to prefetch pages and such, then it makes a bunch of connections to the server at the exact same time, sometimes it can make the server choke on it.

i have firefox, i dont have many extensions, and the ones i do have will not prefetch.
but
Firefox > IE
anyday. In fact, at my school, we removed IE from all the computers and installed FF, which surprisingly none of the administrators cared.

I own an IT security/network administration company...
Let me tell you from experience, firefox is a better browser. It's more secure, it handles scripts better, the extensions database is invaluable, it loads s**t way faster than iexplore.... did I mention it's way more secure? Oh yeah, that's the whole open source thing...
Opera, Safari, Seamonkey, etc... are all respectable also. Anything but iexplore please
unless you like getting your network pwn3d regularly, that is.
Peace,
Pete Zaria.

That happened to me (with google). You'll just have to change it back.
Novacastrian: How about use whatever the heck you can get your hands on?
frankrede: Well then I guess it won't matter when you decide to drink bleach because your out of kool-aid.
...I'm sorry, but that made my year.

The thing is that alot of malware is aimed at the weaknesses that IE presents because it is the browser of XP... A ton of people have it... same reason there are so few mac viruses... because its almost pointless

i first started using firefox so i could use tab browsing (which IE 7 tried to use, but did a shitty job) and once i switched, i never got one virus OR spyware and i also never got a single pop up.
i'm not saying it was all because of FF, but im never switching back - just in case.
Also, on IE 7...where the hell is the refresh button? and why did they rearrange all their buttons? And every 15 websites, i get a "safety warning" that asks me if i want to continue. Like I'm going to say no? Even for sites like spudfiles and yahoo searches.
</rant>
well, that was fun =]
EDIT: Firefox 2.0.0.2 (even though i just updated to 2.0.0.3 today) will spell check your words AS you're typing and let you know what's spelled wrong. I wish everyone on Spudfiles had this feature since no one seems to use the "spellcheck" button on the bottom as it is now.
