well here is my home made disposable camera stun gun. it is simple yet very very loud and VERY hot when it goes off...the knife i have been discharging it on is getting marks on it and every time i pull my camera away it is like welded to the knife until i pul;l really hard..these are gret.. all u do it take the camera apart, go insdie pull out everything but the circut board, then break the falsh aprt and then break the bulb..after everything is out and borken hook 2 wires up to each end of the broken in half bulb..turn ur battery around to reverse it. press the button and discharge!
btw.. dont take it apart with the flash ready to go...i did..it sucked..it discharged once and thgen when i threw it into my other uhand it discharged again...it sucks! ill tell u right now it hurt like a mother effer!

now all you need to do is put it in a small project box and your set. that spark looks so cool, if only i had a camera to take apart...... nice job.

One of these days I'm going to try to take a picture of my 12 camera flash capacitor bank discharging through a bit of metal.
I've been too nervous to do it so far because it would make a HELL of a bang

HI: Just ask at the photo processing counter at your local grocery store. Usually they'll give you a camera or two for free. (They are supposed to return them to the factory to be refurbished but I suspect most places throw the camera away when they process the film.)
---------------
And remember, what Spudthug is describing is not a trigger system for a combustion spud gun. It's a stun gun. A potentially lethal one at that.

A camera or two?

this is a bit stupid, but how often do you have to replace the batteries in these?

well.. i havent replaced mine yet. and it is jsut like a disposable camer, the batteries last forever with the flash. after u takle all the pics or if u have an empty one let the flash warm up and smack the bottom on ur hand, instant flash! hehe

Take the battery out and stick a screwdriver blade between the two wires coming out of the capacitor - it'll make a spark and remove the charge in the circuit.

Don't use a screwdriver you care about, you'll burn holes in it! (Please don't use your dad's best micro screwdriver!)Hotwired wrote:Take the battery out and stick a screwdriver blade between the two wires coming out of the capacitor - it'll make a spark and remove the charge in the circuit.
Use a "diggin-in-the-dirt-weed pulling screwdriver" or a piece of copper wire held in insulated pliers.
Don't short either of the wires on the big cap to anything else on the board. Very few of the boards components will handle the 300+ volts at several amps that might be stored in the cap.
