Hey all,
Well after building my advanced combustion ( pics will hopefully be up soon) I've decided to build a barrel-sealing piston gun..
But I can't figure out if the fittings on mcmaster are pressure rated!!! It says if the pipe is, but for an end cap for example, this is all it says.
Shape
 Cap

Schedule
 40

Pipe Size
 4"

Pipe to Pipe Connection
 Socket-Weld x Socket-Weld

Material
 PVC

Color
 White

Maximum Temperature
 140° F

WARNING
Never use plastic pipe fittings with compressed air or gas.

Specifications Met
American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and National Sanitation Foundation (NSF)

ASTM Specification
 ASTM D1784 and ASTM D2466

NSF Specification
 NSF 61
so does any of those specs tell me if it is pressure rated?? IN an earlier topic, someone said that the NSF 61 said that it is pressure rated..But no one confirmed it. So I would like to be sure...Thanks guys.

Sandman sch 40 or 80 is only a measure of thickness. and does not indicate pressure rated.
I think nsf61 is pressure rated. it is put in the same category as in able to contain drinking water.
